From Diagnosis to Discontinuation: Rethinking the IPF Patient Experience
Activity Summary:
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) remains challenging to diagnose and manage in routine clinical practice. Nonspecific symptoms often delay HRCT imaging and referral, while real-world barriers such as antifibrotic tolerability and early discontinuation complicate long-term management. Clinicians must also interpret physiologic trends, including DLco decline, and integrate evolving insights into pulmonary vascular involvement and emerging therapies.
Throughout this video, Dr. Kevin Flaherty provides practical, case-based strategies to strengthen early recognition, optimize antifibrotic use, manage adverse events proactively, and interpret key diagnostic and prognostic markers. Through clinical scenarios and expert perspectives, participants will gain actionable tools to support earlier diagnosis, more personalized treatment decisions, and sustained care for patients with IPF.
