PrEP: An Integral Part of Contemporary Primary HIV Prevention - Updated 11/21/19
Certified CME/CNE/CPE Activity - Lecture Library
The Simply Speaking HIV Prevention lecture series includes a curriculum that highlights the very latest clinical data utilizing a library of PowerPoint slide presentations developed and approved by key expert physicians and further reviewed and approved by the Planning Committee.

PrEP is a proven safe and effective adjunctive tool for the primary prevention of HIV infection in the United States. The uptake of PrEP has seen a steady increase since its introduction. Much of this early success is a result of recognizing key lessons learned from clinical trials and demonstration projects. However, it is estimated that only 15% of those who would benefit from PrEP are receiving it. This activity will discuss the lessons learned from demonstration projects and open-label extension studies on approaches to mitigate potential barriers to PrEP uptake and strategies to improve integration of PrEP into existing clinical practices.

Updated information is noted on the slide in the upper right-hand corner. Please note that participants who have previously claimed credit for this activity should not claim duplicate credit based on the updates.
Review the slides by selecting the View Slide Kit button on the right. Claim 1 AMA, ANCC, or ACPE credit/contact hour per slide kit after completion of a brief posttest/evaluation.
