Chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a prevalent medical condition in the United States and leads to significant morbidity and mortality.

These educational Mini Modules review the burden of chronic HBV infection, describes the various serum markers of HBV infection and their clinical importance, and reviews evidence-based and AASLD treatment recommendations for chronic HBV infection. Furthermore, the results from recent clinical trials of preferred HBV antiviral agents are discussed.
